Stress is  a growing problem in today's society. With this project Laura wanted to raise awareness by showing an alternative opportunity to prevent stress.  In this "anti-stress" floor she combined several techniques to get more relaxed. Our feet are super sensitive because of thousands of nerve endings. That's the reason why walking barefoot provides benefits, especially walking barefoot outside. It stimulates the senses, makes you focused and get your thoughts in the present. Because walking barefooted outside isn't always an option, Laura wanted to take this experience into your own home. She designed tiles made out of gypsum and wool. The shapes in the tiles are inspired on smooth stones, the contrast between those materials are important for a surprising effect. A second reason for choosing those materials is because pure natural materials have a positive impact on people. Association with nature helps the mind relax, according to Biophilic Design.
